Rationing of white bread made from imported flour (1946)

Our Collection

Wheat flour imported with the permission of the American troops has been used to make bread. The daily ration is three loaves of bread a day. When Japan faces an acute shortage of rice, white bread with such a fine-grained texture really gives an edge to our appetite.
