Mount Hotaka prides itself as the "leader of the Northern Alps."
With its peak at 3,190 m, it is amongst the highest in Japan after Mount Fuji and Mount Kita.
It is also a habitation for many wild animals: Snowy mountain top and time lapse of the sky above the mountain at night.
