Underwater footage of the U.S. Navy destroyer minesweeper, USS Emmons. Dark-colored tropical fish moving about the wreck.
The USS Emmons was completed in 1941 during World War II. It was hit by the Japanese in a kamikaze attack on April 6, 1945, and subsequently sunk by the Americans to prevent it from falling into enemy hands. A destroyer is a fast-moving warship designed to attack enemy vessels with torpedoes.
