UNESCO World Heritage: "It rains 35 days per month in Yakushima island"

Our Collection

Yakushima island lies 60km south from the southernmost part of Kyushu.
Clouds rising from the Black Stream strike the steep mountains causing abundant rainfall.
The locals joke about this, saying "it rains 35 days a month in Yakushima."
Cedar trees in a dense fog, torrent running down the mountain surface, heavy rain hitting the forest sideways and sunlight filtering through clouds covering the sky.
